I never thought I'd feel this way. Before I left Juneau and got off the ferry I couldn't keep it together. It was hard to leave such natural beauty. The sun had come out that day, and I could see as far as my eyes could go. The snowy mountain peaks that pierced the stormy skies, the sapphire glacier lakes, the meadows and dense green forests. It's...hard to put how gorgeous it was in words. And not only was Alaska breath taking for the second time, but the community there was special. I'm going to miss shaking hands, smiling, and friendly waves. Here in the big city of Los Angeles, you're lucky if someone makes eye contact, or barely tugs their lip for a grin. I feel awfully out of place here at home now...even though I lived here for most of my life, and had only been in Haines for two weeks. It's some sort of depression I guess...almost like being home sick.

Aww. *hug* Rachel that place is always with you like a family member that leaves you. You have that place in heart and mind.
