Luuke says: it really wouldnt work would it being injected with animal DNA &&Fleabagg says: no you'd need gene therapy you'd have to take a blood sample (or better, a tissue sample) from the host body, ie the experiment and a second sample from the animal you wish to combine the dna with you'd need to stick them both in separate centrifuges, give them a good old spin to separate the DNA from the rest of the cell stick them in separate tubes... bung some DNA endoneuclease in with the animal DNA, chop it right up using info from the genome project locate the area of the human gene you want to add the animal trait and add specific location enzymes to cut the chromosome in the right place. Luuke says: &&Fleabagg says: then you chuck the animal dna in with the human dna, squirt a bit of DNA ligase enzyme in there, spin it about in a centrifuge again, jab it into some bacteria and let it multiply for a while centrifuge the bacteria, nick all the grown DNA, combine it with saline and jab it into the host, bada-bing bada-boom, after about.... 2 years they'd have the trait Luuke says: crikey so technically it is possible &&Fleabagg says: yep.
