Name: Melanie Brookes
Nickname(s): Mels
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Birthday: April 24, 1988
Status: Alpha Unit
DNA: Sea Dragon/Rabbit, Saber Tooth Tiger
AU number: #022
Height: 5'9
Appearance: Melanie is highly attractive from head to toe. She has dark, waving chocolaty hair, that weaves down right below her shoulders. She usually parts it over to the right side. She always has color on her face, unlike her pale sibling. Melanie's skin is tanned with an olive tone, blush at her cheeks. The woman's face is naturally clean, no sign of a blemish or scar anywhere. Don't take her softly, though. She's much tougher than she appears. Melanie always has a little smile on her face, unless somebody died.
Mel's eyes are a dark brown, like her hair color. It's almost hard to notice the deep black irises that lay in the middle. Her eyebrows thin out as the reach the end, and are usually plucked. Normally when Melanie is going out she'll wear thickly hooped earrings, that are very light volumed. They are a mixture of yellow and tan/orange.
Melanie is a fan of collared, short-sleeved shirts. The one that she is usually found wearing is a striped white tee, with navy, yellow, orange, and buttoned down the middle. She likes to dress up and match different articles of clothing. Her long, slender legs are covered by a pair of denim shorts that travel down to right above her knee cap. Around her wrist are wooden beaded bracelets, that give the appearance of on large one. Melanie is perfectly divided out, nothing is too long, and nothing is too short.
About her eyes: Melanie's eyes are very light/dark sensitive, and because of what happened when she was about 8, she's totally blind in the dark. Because of this she can hardly function, and instead of expanding in the dim/dark light, her pupils abnormally shrink, and in pitch black they're about the size of pinheads. In dim light, the little black dots are about the size of normal pupils in extreme light.
Melanie's rabbit/ sea dragon form is always anthro, and she can't help this. Whenever she tried to shift she always ends up as that. Having both rabbit and sea dragon, Melanie is amphibious, and can breath under water as well in the air. Her rabbit coat is dyed blue, and small horned sprout from her cranium. A razor sharp, horned spine is covered in rabbit fur that shoots down the center of her back, and leads to a long, slim whip like tail that has different lengths of fur sprung from it, and on her calves.
Build: She has long, slender legs that are packed with muscles that help her speed greatly. Melanie isn't sickly thin, but she has a flat stomach. Her arms are very muscled, but not like a body-builders. Her height gives Melanie her leanness.
Personality: Melanie has a very complex personality, that changes with her mood. Most of the time she's happy and go-lucky; against violence. And she usually stays that way unless somebody ticks her off. When she's in a good mood, Melanie is very kind and respectful to everything and everybody around her. She can be sarcastic as well, but she's usually only joking around when she is. Mels can be VERY interested in guys, but doesn't usually show it until they catch on, and she's the total opposite when it comes to Natalie. Unlike her sister, she is much more mild about her flirting, and can hardly be called a ho skank bitch from hell. She's all for helping people out, and will do what she can to help everybody. She's pleased by the simplest things; a very optimistic girl. If Melanie ever gets injured or hurt she can easily laugh it off afterwards, even though it still may be sore, or painful for her. She doesn't like to take small things to seriously when it comes to injuries.
But if Melanie does get mad/furious it's ver dangerous to be around her. She can be normal as anything and go on a killing spree easily. Because of her past, Melanie can be perfectally calm and beat the hell out of somebody all at the same time. But most of the time, once she regains her common sense, she'll feel awful and try to help. This is one of her low points in the AU. She actually has no idea why they put her in the Alpha Unit, anyway. Melanie can be extremely clumsy, especially when she's flustered or embarassed, maybe even nervous. She'd either trip a lot and embarass herself even more, or keep bumping into people/things and hurting them. Whether it's whacking or kicking or punching, if she's flustered, Mels will find some way to bring a person down on their knees.
If Melanie ever gets drunk, she'll either turn into a killer, or go into a complete sluttish form. Lucky for everybody else, her drunkness never lasts long, and she's usually somber within a few minutes. Sometimes this comes to her displeasure some times.
Because of her light going personality, the USASI scientist commitie injected one of the old AU chips into her head, so whenever she's on a mission specially assigned, the chip will activate, nd show her true Alpha personality, which includes hostility, sarcasm, Natalieness, and violence. It's a completly diffrent personality that's revealed inside of her. Most of it shows what she was like when she was with her foster parents.
With her personality, you wouldn't think as Melanie in the Alpha Unit. She can easily talk to anybody.
History/Past: Both Natalie and Melanie were separated to different parents at a young age. Actually, Natalie stayed with her birth parents, and Melanie was the one who got shipped off. Natalie's family seemed normal enough to Mels, and so did hers until she actually got to the house. A normal looking outside, 4 floors- including the basement and attic. It was fully furnished and freshly painted, a nice, normal looking home. Her family had restricted the young child to the basement and attic, saying that there was monsters and other scary creatures hiding there. But naive Melanie had to know. She didn't, and never had believed in monsters. One night, when she was 10 years old, Melanie ventured into the attic, when everybody was lying in their beds. Slowly, she opened the silent door that had concealed old, creaky wooden stairs leading to the peak of the house. She had seen her family go up there constantly, but never bothered to ask what for. The door stuck for a moment, and with a hefty pull it creaked open with a soft snapping sound. The young girl crept up the stairs to find test tubes and viles, knives and swords. Various skull-stickered bottles sat on selves. And smack dab in the middle was a large, gray and dull metal slab of a table.
Melanie had seen enough. All of this was worse than 'monsters'. She crept back down as quickly as possible, slamming the door shut with a loud thud. She quickly rushed back to her bedroom, jumped in bed, and pretended to be asleep when her 'mother' came in to see what the noise was. Melanie held her breath. All of that made it discouraging to see what was in that chilly concrete hole of a basement. Then again, a string of curiosity struck her. She had already gotten over the shock of those weapons; so if there were more downstairs it wouldn't be so scary. Sure, she'd go down and look. But only tomorrow night.
The next day went by slowly. Melanie was left staring at the old white door to the basement most of the day, wondering. What could be down there? She did look at her mother and father in a different way, though. When they reached out to touch her she shrunk away. When they offered to cut her food she shook her head and did it herself. She didn't thrust them with pointy objects. Finally the nightfall came, and at 5:00am Melanie rose. She was aware that her parents woke in 30 minutes for work, but she didn't think that she'd be more than 10 minutes. Melanie slunk down the stairs and to the basement door, placing her small hand on the rusted out knob, slowly twisting it open and placing a foot on the first hard, metal step. Her other hand felt for the switch, flicking it on as the cold air and an odd smell hit her face. It almost smelt like... rot. But only a hint of it. Just the thought made a literal shudder run down the 10 year old's spine. She finally hit the cold floor, and scanned around the basement. Nothing. Only concrete and a light bulb. Melanie couldn't believe it. Not even storage? She took tiny steps, but slipped a tad in some unknown liquid. When she looked back, there was a red streak from where she'd slid across the floor. Then she examined the sole of her foot. Red. Blood red.
Melanie's eyes widened, as she looked around in panic. Why was there a pool of BLOOD on the floor? A small flash caught her eye. Behind the stairs was a large, with a strange vault latched on the side. Slowly, she walked over to the door, and a larger, rotting scent hit her nose. What was this? Why was it here? Melanie quickly backed up- but into something. Trembles started coursing through Melanie. She slowly craned her head around to find her stony-face father glaring down at her. "D-dad..." He grunted in response, but a slow grin crept across his face. "So you want to join the family buisness." It wasn't a question. Melanie tried to back away, but only ended up hitting the cold metal of the vault. "Then I suppose I'll have to show you what it's all about. Her foster father briskly walked over to the vault door, spinning the lock open. The stench grew, and hit her face again. Sorry, we haven't cleaned out in a while. We didn't want you to ask." Melanie had been too frightened to look, only staring at her father. He nudged his head towards the hole in the wall. And when she looked, all she saw was dead, mangled, bloody bodies.
Her father had to clasp a hand over Melanie's mouth to stop her scream. Melanie dropped to her knees. "Close it daddy!" She shrieked, soon scrambling on her feet again and running towards the stairs. Her father growled at her, before grabbing something. A pipe? "Don't run away from your job!" he hissed, before thwacking her in the side of the head. Melanie's eyes went fuzzy, and she felt the warm drips of blood slide down her cheek. Suddenly the dim light seemed pitch black, and less light filtered into her brown eyes. After realizing what her father had done, he gaped in horror, dropped the pipe and rushed over to her. The man scooped the child up and rushed to the attic, dripping blood along the way. Half conscious, the 10 year old slurred unknown words, as she felt her head being stitched, and her arm being pricked with something from a vile. What was he doing to her? She had no idea. But what she did know is that her whole body was shaking, and she started to feel more hostile. She was transforming into something... something that was unspeakable. And right before she blacked out, 5 letters caught her light-ridden eyes. U.S.A.S.I
Murderers AND scientists?
Eight Years Later[/b]
The tiger crept through the alley way, large canine fangs protruding from her muzzle. A frightened, pale-faced man glanced around with wide eyes. He was obviously a man of wealth- a fancy expensive suit dressed upon him. His hair was neatly combed, and a small 'manager' plate stuck on the right side of his suit. They were in a bank vault- surrounded by billions of dollars. Many were already dead- the workers. Some were even policemen. Melanie lunged, and a terrible shriek pierced her ears- bouncing off of the vault walls. She hardly recoiled, and a sickly thud echoed. He was dead. Melanie's foster parents were all about the money these days, and they used her as their weapon. Some were saved by a whim to experiment on. Others were the unlucky fellows- like this man. Her fosters rushed in with a crew of men who went on to bag the money. "Good job." was grunted to her as they exited. Melanie could make it home by herself. She WAS 18.
As Melanie slunk home in her human state, something pierced th back of her head, where her spine met her brain. She froze in place, unable to move for the moment. Before anything else, a large black van pulled up, and Melanie was struck in the side of her head- again. Her vision went blurry again, and the darkness blinded her. She felt her half awake self loaded into the van, and driven off quickly. Between fainting spells, Melanie managed to hear things about her parents being killed, and to take the daughter. Her father was fired from her job and killed for murder and using his scientist expertise for torture and homicide. And then she heard 'Alpha unit' as well as 'being chipped'. Then it all went black.
Weaknesses:
`Blindness in darkness
`Dehydration and overheating from being near flames
`Her happy personality can be a bit bad for the AU
Other: Is Natalie's good side sister. Basically the complete opposite.
