Caught Between Nations
- Skyler’s mom Suzan has been taking filmmaking for the past five years. She has decided to track down the USASI’s location through a friend who is part of the federal government. Since her friend refuses to help her in order to keep her position in congress the only thing she feels she can do to get the word out to the public is through a shocking documentary. Her mission is personal.
- Suzan arrives on the island as a stowaway on a cargo ship bringing supplies to the lab. She brings a team of audio people, photographers and writers to record the information whom are disguised as scientists and have set up a small and hidden camp during night hours.
- The documentary titled The Genome Generation is later released in the States, putting the experiments and scientists into the light. People are stunned but confused by what they see on their screens. Some believe that the documentary was staged, others think that the government really has something to do with it. Suspicions begin to arise as the President himself goes on national television and claims that USASI is a private organization and not tied to the government in any way. The fact that congress felt threatened enough to bring up an issue that seemed to come out of thin air and brought about through a filmmaker unknown was a dead giveaway.
- In an act of desperation wanting to get USASI and the experiments off their hands without destroying the hybrid children, the US sells them to Japan/Germany/Russia/China under the condition that they are not harmed and only used for beneficial health science and that they do not manufacture any more experiments.
- The contract is broken as CountryXYZ begins to test warfare strategies with the experiments and eventually moves them to military bases. Videos of the warfare testing are leaked and eventually reach the US. The United States is enraged by their actions. CountryXYZ is continueing to build up military technology, armies and experimental soldiers. The US does not know what CountryXYZ is planning or who they are going to invade.
- The US sends out troops to suppress and capture areas in which war tactics are being studied and made to prevent a full scale war breaking out. But there’s one problem, the United States are up against the very creations they gave life to…
Your Part Within the War
Part 1: The setting will remain on the island until those roleplaying Suzan’s spy acquaintances gather enough information and the spies and experiments/scientists/alphas have interacted. During this period your goal is to have at least one encounter between a USASI affiliated character and character whom is involved with making the documentary. Your character may be interviewed, followed, and filmed. Keep in mind that spies are not there to break anyone out of the lab. Your character might be kicking and screaming in pain, but the one with the video camera can only film. That’s their job.
For this part of the rp we only need temporary characters, whether you decide to continue playing them is up to you. We need at least one or more applicant for each:
*Suzan( Head of the documentary team. (Played by Moose)
*Videographer ( Job is to follow, film and interview experiments. When it comes to getting footage of scientists and alphas, they must be undercover or in disguise. One false step, and they won’t be leaving the island (not alive at least).
*Photographer( Same rules apply. Your job is to take pictures that are worth a thousand words with the use of nuance and intimacy. You’re likely to be paired with the writer.
*Journalist/Writer( Your job is to keep a journal of day to day events of being in the presence of USASI. You write articles about the lives on the island and how things work around their. You work closely with Suzan to help organize a screen play.
Character Outline Application:
Name:
Gender:
Age:
Career: (choose from above):
Personality: (2-3 paragraphs. Brief. )
History: (1-3 paragraphs. Brief.)
Part 2: The setting changes to the streets of CountryXYZ, when they are shipped off and away from the United States. Here, the experiments live relatively freely. They are given complexes to live in together, fed, and given education if they so pleased. Their only cost of living is a weekly visit to a clinic so that they can take blood samples and do short procedures to help find cures to diseases.
Note: For this period in the roleplay, only your original characters are needed. Scientists have traveled with the experiments to take part in the clinic but are under a watchful eye. They travel where the experiments go.
Part 3: The experiments are inexplicably moved from their complex during the night. They don’t know why they have arrived at an outdoor camp with a large fenced in area. Soon it becomes apparent what their use is when they undergo military training and are being tested with war technology and strategies.
Note: Rpers are free to roam the base and train. Scientist characters can assist in helping reinforce the experiments with stronger DNA or test different heightened senses.
Part 4: It’s time for battle. The experiments are sent off to war to defend evacuated cities to keep the US military forces from invading vital areas of CountryXYZ’s military capital and shutting down operations to continue building warfare tools. The experiments have no choice but to fight since they are under the gun and are unsure of where their loyalties lay. Do they hold nothing back against the country that made their lives unpredictable and dangerous, or rebel against CountryXYZ who put them in combat?
Note: The setting for this part of the roleplay won’t require a large number of members to be online at the same time since this will be a kind of melee combat and unorganized gorilla attacks which can take place between small groups.
