Sapphire eyes flickered to the red haired experiment as he was greeted with only silence as he mentioned the dragons, frowning a little as he looked at her, quietly, questioningly as he gazed in her direction, ears twitching lightly. Sighing at her words. “Maybe not” he muttered, “But I wish they were, besides, they’re most likely going to grow up faster than ordinary kids” he muttered dully. Gazing down at Evie, a mere glimmer of sorrow in the depths of his eyes as he gazed at the young girl. Smiling a small smile as he lifted the child up to his chest, drawing her into a tight, yet still gentle hug, stroking her hair gently and crooning softly in her ear.
“I’d love to raise a child fully” he mumbled lightly. “Indi’s come back and is now a teenager who I really have no clue how to act around, Skyler’s a pain in the ass and as independent as an alley cat, Duncan and Dream I can’t even seem to connect with” he muttered, “I’d just like to raise a child and feel that I made an impact, so I feel like I done my role as a father, after all, you’ve pretty much raised Evelyn yourself. I’ve missed every milestone there is to see in raising a child, I barely see her, I barely get a chance to raise her like I should…” his voice trailed off as he grabbed a towel and sat his daughter on the counter, the silence trailing as he began to gently dry her slim, pale frame with gently strokes, towel drying her two toned hair.
His tail hung still behind him as he wrapped Evelyn back up into the towel securely and scooped her up, cradling the small fragile body against his own, kissing her forehead softly, not pointing out the fact that Rook hadn’t answered his earlier question.

Rook* Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore ~+~ She said quietly, looking down at her clasped, worked hands. "Being a leader..." She laughed slightly. She'd slipped so far down the food chain she was unsure if anyone even knew she still existed. She'd become a parent. A dedicated parent, never leaving Evie for a moment, never leaving the restaurant. Always waiting, caring. People come and go, but if they stay they don't linger for long. Tiring, desolate and never ending. "Sometimes I wonder which would be easier, leadership or parenthood." She said, with a slight laugh lasing the last word. If only she had some sort of sanctuary, instead of being there for everyone else. To have someone care for her and tend to her wounds. No, that was her job. The doctor, her hands covered with someone else's blood as they try to stop it pouring. It's constant, and unceasing, a demand for care and for help. And yet more and more people were starting to botch their own remedies. She was becoming obsolete. Unneeded. Just there, existing, hanging around the restaurant like a tainted ghost. It was becoming weary. However, maybe if she waited long enough there would be a spark of light. Some interest other than merely wandering without an end. She had means, of course... but where they would take her she didn't know. Ahead was a fog, coming closer. And pretty soon she was sure she would lose her way completely. Because walking alone along a many-tracked road would only make you lose your way. She looked up, staring back at the wall as she slid down from the worksurface, now leaning against it, her arms folded across her stomach as it grumbled, not out of hunger, but merely for something to do.[/ul][/sub] And so smile, child...

Will didn’t laugh, and he didn’t smile at Rook’s humour, at her own laugh which hung alone and silent in the kitchen, inhabited only by the three of them, the broken up family. Will believed he’d gotten the sour deal in it all. He was rushed off his paws, had jobs from all about, tending to wounds, to cuts that were in his range of knowledge, caring for the weaker and the vulnerable, feeding and protecting the younger ones, being dumped with a baby he’d much rather see booted through the wall than anything. But he never got to play the part he wanted most, to be a big part in Evie’s life, instead, he was there part the time, no wonder so many doubted his ability to care for children, because he had never had time with his own.
His ears flattened, Rook didn’t seem to understand, no one ever seemed to really, yet he’d hoped Rook would have, would have seen how upset the leader really was at seeing his daughter grow up without him, as if he was watching her and Rook from behind a screen, where he could see, but could not communicate with them on the other side, or be seen by them at all. And the only probable reason no one seemed to realise how badly Will longed to raise Evie like he should, like he wanted too, he simply hid it all to well. He hid the true hurt from his words and from his expression, his body, so merely himself could feel it.
He set Evie down on the table, stroking her wet hair softly as he draped his shirt around her so he could towel dry her hair. “Rook, can you get Evie some clothes please” he requested quietly.

Rook* Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore ~+~ She said, quite distantly. She was still fractured from Emily's death. Still a fragile collection of atoms and dust. She stood up straight, the thought of the eggs in her mind as she headed out of the kitchen, running fingers through her ponytail as her mind made her stomach feel ill again. She didn't want to be the recluse. She'd always been the outspoken one, the one who always was there. And now she felt faded, like she had been left in the sunlight and it was breaking her down. She walked up the stairs, carried by her own contemplation, unable to feel the steps beneath her feet as her body was all but evacuated by her mind, that clambered over dry rocks trying to survive in her frantic head. She gave a sigh, opening the door to her room as she headed across to the bed, sitting down carefully as she pulled open a drawer at the bottom of the wardrobe. She could sense Will was a little annoyed at her, but what could she do? She had stayed in one place so Evie was always there to come back to. He could be angry at her all he wanted, but it wouldn't make any difference. She could hardly drag Evie across the city on a daily basis, just so the girl could be with her father. True, there were things that Will had missed, but the future was so full of the youngster's life, so many things to look forward to. It had only just begun. Learning to walk, to read, to write... everything was yet to come. She gave a light smile, unsure of why, as she lifted a pretty lemon yellow dress from the bottom drawer, running her thumb over the embroidered flowers around the hem of the skirt. One day, she could tell, Evie would be disgusted by something so pretty, if she wasn't already. She was like her mother in that respect. Pretty and floaty clothes were no good to her. She sought out a soft towel as well, and a pair of small white socks to keep the toddler's feet warm. It was never good to let her be cold. Everything was so perfect. So doll-like. She would always keep these tokens of childhood. Of an innocence she herself had never known.[/ul][/sub] And so smile, child...

Will waited quietly as he tended to his daughter, one of the rare moments he got to spend with her, this was probably the longest he’d spent with her in months. He had a feeling, that unlike Rook’s own thoughts, this cycle would remain, he knew Evie although hlooking more like him, would end up like Rook personality wise, it would only seem reasonable, expectant. And Will already knew, he wouldn’t like it, if fact, his desire to protect her and give her a normal life would probably be what would separate them like they were now. After all, Will was hopeless with teenagers, with young kids, sure, he could cope, but he’d missed that with Evelyn, he barely saw her, and that Cycle will probably continue. His ears flat he sighed. “Lets take you to Rook” he mumbled lightly. “She can dress you” he said, scooping the girl up as he carried her up the stairs, his strides were unusually slow. He didn’t think he could do what was planned out, he didn’t think he could continue with the guilt and the despair of never being there for Evie. He was wondering if it was always truly his fault of this. He nudged Rook’s door open lightly. “Here” he said lightly, placing Evelyn down, the shirt still draped large and hanging over her small body, touching the top of her head lightly. “I’ll see you later Rook” he mumbled, leaving the room without saying anything further, ears pinned against his head as he dug his hands into his pockets and stalked swiftly along the corridor and out of sight.

DreamcasterDreamcaster had been sleeping where she had been left by Will. But now she was wide awake as she looked around and began to squeak calling for Will. "Daddy?" She called out looking around. She moved to the door seeing she was in his room. She nudge the door wings folded on her back tail swishing. She squeaked again. She backed up and looked up at the door. She studied the handle and began to jump up trying to reach it but having no luck just lightly scratching the door up with her claws. "Daddy? Dad?!" She called out tail thumping the floor as she sat looking at the handle of the door. Dream Fighter [/sub]

Rook* Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore ~+~ She muttered. She knew exactly what Evie would do, and the girl didn't disappoint. She shifted to her animal form, and darted out of the door, tail flicking behind her as she chased after Will. "Daddy! Wait!" She called, her wings fluttering madly to lift her from the ground. Rook pulled her legs up onto the bed next to her, lying on her side in the foetal position, still staring at the wardrobe doors. Maybe she should let herself go. Find her mother and her sister somewhere new, where there was no emotional turmoil any more. She didn't know how much more loss she would be able to take. It was becoming all-encompassing, omnipresent, like a demon leering constantly over her shoulder. A haunting, as if she was followed by the ghosts of her family. They were in her eyes, under her skin, through her hair... She closed her eyes to the world. She didn't want to see any more, or look out onto the blank life that she had ahead of her. The landscape simply pure white.[/ul][/sub] And so smile, child...

Will’s ears pricked at the unfamiliar summons of ‘daddy’ ears twitching faintly as he moved silently back to his own room, guessing it wasn’t Duncan as the little terror was still causing havoc else where. He sighed contently, thanking the heavens it was Dream who called to him, he wouldn’t be able to handle the stress Duncan managed to suffocate him with. He gave a small smile. “He babes” he murmured softly as he slowly eased the door open. Careful not to accidentally strike the young dragon, he knelt down and gently scooped the child into his arms. Stroking her softly eyes softened somewhat. “At least I get to care properly for you” he murmured gently, “I wonder if you’ll be able to change form soon” he murmured gently. “I’d like to see what you look like before you’re all grown up” he murmured softly, cradling her against his chest as he began to head back downstairs. Before he could reach the top step however, he heard the second howl, turning around to see the small creature hurtling at him, slightly bigger than Dream, he knelt down, a small smile on his lips as he caught the hurtling furball in his free arm, holding both daughters to his chest. In his eyes, they were both his daughters, Dream was not adopted, although one day, she would need to know the truth, and Evie, Evie would be his little girl forever, he knew he wouldn’t be able to let her go, although he would most likely have to. He smiled softly, pecking Evie’s forehead as he often done, his sign of affection, strong affection in such a simple motion. “Evelyn” he murmured softly. “Meet your sister” he murmured softly, “Dreamcaster” he murmured, moving down the stairs, eyes focused on the two in his arms.

DreamcasterDream hurred and nuzzled into Will's arms. She looked around lightly smelling someone that some what smelled like herself which confused her. She looked around and then to Will. "Change?" Dreamcaster questioned a bit confused. What did he mean? She looked around hearing sounds that caught part of her attention. She then saw Will catch an winged cat and as Will spoke she watched Evelyn. A very small trace of scent on the kitten that reminded her of something Dream could not figure out. Dream lightly whined as she tried to figure out the small trace of scent on the new creature. Dream Fighter [/sub]

“Hey hey!” Will said chidingly to Evie. “Gentle” he said firmly, descending the steps and shaking his head softly with a light smile. “She’s you’re little sister…for now, so be nice” he murmured, sitting at one of the booths, secluded and comfortable as he sat both of them on the table. “And yes, change” he nodded lightly to the young dragon. “Evie, change for me, and show Dreamcaster what I mean” he said softly, stroking the soft fur of his biological daughter gently. But his focus was on the both of them, smiling softly, happy to be in the company of only his two young daughters as he stroked Dream’s back with gentle fingers.

DreamcasterDream shook her head as the paw bated her on the nose. She lightly hurred and looked at Evelyn her green eyes looking the young creature over no longer interested in the scents that were just confusing her any way. She looked at Will head tilted and looked to Evelyn again. "Evie?" She repeated the words Will had said. Dream Fighter [/sub]

“Yes, Evie” he said lightly. “And when I say change, I mean you can change to look human, like me and Jay” he said softly, touching the fine scales of the dragon with a gentle doting touch. “You’ll have two legs” he tickled the underside of her front foot then. “You’ll be bigger” he added with a smile, stroking her neck. “And you’ll be a beautiful little girl, no doubt” he smiled.

DreamcasterDream hurred and looked up at Will as though studying how he looked wondering. She closed her eyes and slowly began to change in to a toddler sized kid. Her green eyes closed as she focused on changing. She looked up at Will for some reason and was only half changed from the waist down was still draconic while her upper half human. Her hair short yet went down only to mid neck and had red streaks mixed in to the brown. Making her skin look pale and also with her being only half changed the navy blue scales of he dragon torso contrasting with her skin. Her green eyes looked at Will then at her half changed body. She gave a startled look. "Change?" She said. Dream Fighter [/sub]

Duncan whined, sitting outside the closed door. He didn't like being left out. He had been shut out of the main part, left in the back.
Jay landed and came in through the back door, entering the kitchen. He headed to the main roomk and saw Evie and Dream. Seeing Will he gave a wave and looked, around, seeing only one dragon. "Where's the other?" He asked, noting Will's tail, knowing that Duncan was the first source of that that came to mind.

Will smiled, seeing she was going to give it a try, from what he could tell by her expression anyway. He watched her body grow and shift and shape itself…partly, into a human shape, smiling at the young, adorable little face he was greeted with, stroking her pale cheek with equally pale fingers, chuckling at her startled response. “Yes” he replied softly, amusement hinting his voice as he kissed her forehead softly as he done with Evie. “Maybe you’ll be able to get the legs right soon” he said lightly. Having never met another experiment who could change part way. As Jay entered, the male looked up, nodding, wondering where the man had been for such a long time. He gave a shrug. “I left him with the others because I was seriously going to hurt the little brat” he grunted irritably. “I wouldn’t be surprised if they locked him in a cupboard” he tutted, “You’ll need to find him, I’m ignoring him completely until he apologises for being an obnoxious little git” he huffed.

Zack very nearly jumped as he heard Sinner’s voice just next to him. He turned his head somewhat sharply to look at her, immediately regretting the fast movement but she had startled him, he hadn’t expected her to get so close. He had trained his senses on the distance that she had been, not the distance she was now. A chuckle ran through the young man’s body after the jump, relieved that it was just Sin, it was true that Zack could be very jumpy at times, so used to the AU leaping out from every corner.
He grinned broadly at Sinner, soft white teeth showing from beneath his lips, truly happy by how close Sinner was. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to jump,” he said softly ‘Or grin like a mad man’ he thought, although couldn’t make himself smile any less. “You don’t have to come this close, you know, if you don’t want to. I mean, it’s great, of course, but, if you really don’t feel safe or comfortable, well, I don’t mind if you back up a little. You don’t need to push yourself just for me,” his tone was soft, clearly the male was thrilled with her being so close but he didn’t want her to be out of her depths just so to be polite, or whatever. “And I’ve only been with the rebels a few weeks now, although been injected for a few years,” he shook his head lightly at the thought of how long he had been injected. He glanced a reassuring smile at Sinner as he walked, the sandy shores of the beach coming into view along the horizon.

–Sasha—
Sasha wandered about the streets in the rain her fur dripping with the moisture. Her hazel eyes wandered about watching the few drivers that passed on the wet road. She growled each time she saw a driver on the phone or speeding. She shook her collar going back into place the blue glass shard behind the one washer of the pendant caught the light. She slowed as she got to a park looking around ears dripping with the water that soaked her to the bone.
Sasha looked around at the trees not seeing a single soul around. She let out a deep breath her breath lightly showing from being hotter then the air around her. She sat under a tree looking around her mind wandering from thoughts of Mrs. Knox to Seth. She wondered if he was okay and where he was. She lowered her head as she looked at the ground lost in thought.
"What has be fallen you my dear friend?" Her soft song like voice rang out lightly into the silence as she wished for a answer to her question.
Sasha lifted a paw to her collar pendant that was simply made of a washer and a small washer like charm that had the word, 'imagine' on it going around the blue stain glass shard. She stood and shook her fur again. She walked off again through the trees seeking someone she doubted she would ever see again.

s e t h you have to walk carefully in the beginning of love; the running across fields into your lover's arms can only come later when you're sure they won't laugh if you trip.
• • • •
Seth was at peace right now. One of the few times he could relax, one of the times he actually let himself relax. Small droplets of water sprinkled across his face as his pure chocolate brown eyes slid open to glaze over the heavens in which were slept over by a grey paint. A sigh released from his lips as he silently wondered what had become of a friend that was once very much so his family. But no… What family did he have now? He was left in the cold trying to numb himself from the world and his DNA. But was that even a logical option anymore or was he slowly losing his sanity he valued so much?
He didn’t know what to think anymore. He was so lost and his DNA didn’t help at the least. Hugging his knees tightly to his chest he then bowed his head forward. Hair dancing over his face and kissed his nose and licked at his forehead. He was getting rather wet on the ground, even if the leaves of the tree above him acted as some form of half hearted shelter. But then he heard something. The sound of something splashing through the park, the mud pushing it’s way between paws as it struggled to escape. His head raised and he blinked, a raindrop flicking off his long dark lashes.
Peering around the other side of his tree, he noticed a creature moving through the light rain. Pelt a most beautiful auburn and silkily looking. A dog? Not that uncommon but seeing the collar that dangled from its neck Seth was unsure if a person was near by. He couldn’t smell anything human, well not really. Only that tainted smell in which he scented mixed blood. It was a disgusting smell that Seth natural compared to the labs scent. He couldn’t help the growl that pressed from his lips Already his DNA was reacting to the presence of another. How nice….
